What do I need to do to make my vehicle ready for collection?

Once you have made the decision to scrap your vehicle, there are a few steps you need to take to ensure there are no problems collect or processing your vehicle before, during and once it has been collected.

1. Make sure the vehicle is accessible

2. Empty it of all rubbish and any personal belongings, take some time and make sure that everything you want to keep from the vehicle is removed. Please remove any rubbish as this can have an enviromental impact.

3. Make sure your V5 is ready, the V5 is an essential element of the vehicle scrapping process. You will need to fill out the relevent section on the V5, section 9, before sending it to the DVLA, this will inform them that the vehicle you have scrapped has been taken off road, this can be done via post of online.
